"As of today the MEGALIFTER® and accessories can address any mining shovel lifting need on any electric shovel or hydraulic excavator with the same level of confidence and performance."
In 1996, my father was challenged by the Quebec Cartier Mining Company to design and develop a lifting device to safely undeck P&H 2100, 2300 and Bucyrus 295 mine shovels in order to perform maintenance to the rotating elements, center pin and revolving frame structure. Shortly after this success, Megatraction Equipment Inc. was founded to manufacture and commercialize the MEGALIFTER®; the first and only patented heavy lift system made specifically to separate an open pit mine shovel.
Continued development, now in its fourth generation, has led to the introduction of the SYNCHRO® in 2014, a system that raises the undercarriage in parallel while the upper deck is supported by MEGALIFTER®. This capability, allowing you to safely perform full roller change to both tracks, or side frames, in the same outage, now extends to any hydraulic or electric shovel on the market today, with boom on or off.
As of today the MEGALIFTER® and accessories can address any mining shovel lifting need on any electric shovel or hydraulic excavator with the same level of confidence and performance. We hope to bring similar cost saving solutions to other heavy works involved with shovels to help further boost its availability while reducing the costs of this key production mining equipment.
With a perfect track record for safety in 23 years, we are proud to be the world’s leading supplier of shovel lifting systems. We are not standing still however. We continue to strive and are currently excited about new technologies such as the SIDELIFTER® and others that will be launched in 2020 to serve you better. Whether your heavy lifting challenges are in the mining or any other industry, we are more than open to hear about them and to see how we can help you reduce your operation costs. Just ask.
